Yilan Chen is an Open Research Librarian at the University of Waikato Library, where she supports researchers and postgraduate students in maximising the visibility and impact of their work. Her expertise includes:

• Supporting the deposit and dissemination of research outputs through the University’s institutional repository
• Responsible approaches to measuring research impact using traditional citation metrics and altmetrics tools
• Helping researchers understand research culture, including research assessment practices
