I'm an anthropologist, interdisciplinary artist, and educator from Aotearoa New Zealand. My work is relational, grounded in responsibility, care, and place, connecting creative practice with community. I explore sound, ngā taonga pūoro (traditional Māori musical instruments), and co-creative research methods rooted in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, bringing together histories, cultures, and creative practices to imagine new ways of living, listening, and working together. My doctoral research builds on this through taonga pūoro as a practice of listening, improvisation, and shared responsibility, what I call a sonorous ethics in research. I work across creative practice, scholarship, and community collaboration, focused on research that matters to people and on how collaboration can support real social change.
