Dr. Dalour Beg is actively involved in a range of professional activities that support both his research and the wider scientific community. He serves on scientific committees for national and international conferences and symposia, helping shape discourse in sustainable materials and the circular economy. As a peer reviewer for several leading journals, he contributes to maintaining the quality and integrity of research in his field. Dr. Beg also organises and leads outreach initiatives, including the "Indigenous Sparks" workshop funded by the PTC Trust and held at the LSL, University of Waikato. This workshop promotes meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities, particularly Māori, by introducing school students to materials science and sustainability. Through such initiatives, Dr. Beg fosters collaboration, encourages youth participation in STEM, and supports equity in science education and research.
