TEACHING AND SUPERVISION INTERESTS
I convene the first year paper, ENGLI100 Telling the Story, ENGLI202, Shakespeare’s Worlds (usually offered as a C term Summer paper), and ENGLI301 Challenging Forms, where currently we are focusing on poetry from Aotearoa/NZ. I supervise a wide range of Masters and PhD topics, from Modernist poetry, Queer antifuturity in Beckett, Melville and Stein to Science Fiction in the Cold War, with students using a wide range of textual and cultural methodologies, engaging in critical analysis and, in some cases, creative practice.
