Lisette's teaching has spanned Community Health, Physical Education and Critical Health Education. At postgraduate levels she has and continues to supervise students focused on projects drawing on disciplines ranging from Education, Nursing and Indigenous Studies to Sociology, Critical Psychology, and Sociology of Health.

A range of conceptual tools and resources are introduced to support students' critical analyses of different perspectives on how healthy bodies are understood and practised in communities. Students will consider the implications for professional practice in sport, movement and wellbeing settings.

This paper explores the socio-political context of health and healthcare in Aotearoa-NZ. Health scenarios are used to develop understanding of socio-political issues applied to clinical practice.

This paper will allow students to develop their skills for finding and analysing literature, gain an understanding of different research designs, methodologies and ethical issues in health, sport and human performance settings, learn different statistical and analysis techniques. This paper will split into two streams where students will either choose the qualitative research (e.g. interviews, ethnography, autoethnography, media analysis, digital-based research, visual ethnography) or quantitative research stream.
