BIO

Joy Rudland is a Professor at the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine (NZGSM), University of Waikato. She holds a PhD,  MPhil,BSc(Hons), Her medcial edcuation journey began over 30 years ago at the Dundee Centre for Medical Education, and she previously held senior education leadership roles at the University of Otago and the Medcial Counicl of New Zealand. 

 

She has  published many peer-reviewed journal articles as well as several book chapters. She is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE). She has been a member of ANZAHPE since moving to New Zealand in 2003 and served on its Committee of Management for four years as the Professional Development lead, and she initiated and was the ingural lead for ANZAHPE's online professional development series.

 

She now brings her expertise in medical education, staff development, and support to Waikato's newly established medical school, which is designed to train doctors differently and produce more graduates who choose general practice and regional or rural work.
