BIO
Tena koutou katoa
Nō Ngāruahine me Taranaki ahau.
Ko Inga Tamou taku ingoa, ko ahau te Student Learning Developer, Lecturer mo Te Puna Ako.
I have a secondary school teaching and leadership background having worked in Aotearoa for 8 years, and at international schools in Santiago, Chile, and in Jakarta, Indonesia for over 14 years. The Māori Health model, Te Whare Tapa Wha, has been a guiding framework throughout my teaching career, in creating pathways and building relationships. I lecture in the Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching & Learning program, helping academics integrate kaupapa Māori into their programs through acknowledging cultural and historical contexts and improving the success of Māori. My other hat that I wear is as a Student Learning Developer whereby I use a wide range of academic skills and knowledge to support all students through a holistic lens and enjoying the process of learning and being a kaitiaki.
My wife (Jodie) and I live at the Mount in the Bay, and we have three awesome kids; Eryn (28), Fox (22) and Bella (20) whom we cherish. I love connecting with my whānau, hāpu and friends and celebrating and cherishing our manaakitanga and aroha while ensuring we can contribute to making our world more positive and empathetic for each other.
Ko au te maunga, ko te maunga ko au.
No reira, tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa.
