I am a PhD candidate in the Division of Health, Department of Sport and Human Performance at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. My research explores the intersections of sport, migration, and space, with a particular focus on the everyday sporting experiences of young Chinese women living in New Zealand. Drawing on qualitative and creative methodologies, I examine how mobility, embodiment, and place shape migrants' participation in sport and physical activity. More broadly, I am interested in understanding how sport is experienced across different cultural, social, and spatial contexts. I am particularly interested in developing culturally informed understandings of sport and physical activity by engaging with Chinese perspectives and lived experiences.
