BIO

Xinyu Liu is a PhD candidate at the University of Waikato whose research focuses on health, gender, and the body. Her doctoral project explores the diverse pregnancy and childbirth care landscape in Aotearoa New Zealand and examines the coexistence of different forms of healthcare knowledge and practice. Her broader interests include medical anthropology, medical sociology, medicalisation, and medical pluralism.
