BIO

I am a Senior Physiotherapist and Regional Performance Therapies Lead at High Performance Sport New Zealand, with more than 20 years of experience working in Olympic, Commonwealth Games, and World Championship environments. Alongside my clinical role, I am a PhD candidate at the School of sport and human movement, University of Waikato, investigating performance monitoring in elite track sprint cyclists using inertial measurement units (IMUs) and isometric benchmark testing. My research combines biomechanics, three-dimensional motion capture, wearable sensor technologies, and cycling-specific isometric assessment to better understand the physical and biomechanical determinants of sprint cycling performance. The overarching aim of my work is to develop practical, evidence-based athlete monitoring tools that support athlete profiling, performance optimisation, and decision-making within high-performance sport environments
