BIO

Muhammad Omer is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waikato. His research focuses on the thermomechanical characterisation of additively manufactured metal structures under cyclic loading, with particular emphasis on advanced infrared thermography for rapid fatigue assessment. His work investigates temperature evolution, heat-source behaviour and thermoelastic responses associated with cyclic deformation and fatigue damage. His research aims to develop rapid and non-destructive approaches for characterising fatigue behaviour and identifying early indicators of material degradation in additively manufactured metals.
