BIO
I am a PhD student in the Division of Health, School of Sport and Human Movement at the University of Waikato. After graduating from a Master's degree in Sport Science in the French Alps (Université Savoie Mont Blanc), I had the opportunity to enrol for a PhD in partnership with Salomon, a shoe company based in France.
Having a practice background in endurance and ultra-endurance outdoor sports, my research interests are driven by the desire to better understand how sports equipment can improve human locomotion:
My master research project was aiming at identifying links between trail running shoes appreciation on uneven ground and runners' individual characteristics (physical, anatomical, foot function, running biomechanics and stability, and sensorial integration).
My current PhD research is focusing on endurance road running with a special interest in performance, biomechanics, shoe appreciation, running induced fatigue, and how the use of different footwears can impact all the latter in recreational and trained runners.
