BIO

I am a social scientist and teacher, with about 28 years teaching and curriculum design experience across a range of educational and cultural contexts.

I have BA in English Literature and Classical Studies (Monash), a DipEd in secondary English and History (La Trobe), a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching) (RMIT), a MA in International Development (RMIT), and a PhD in complex (urban) systems resilience and collapse (RMIT).

My own research is in complex social/technological systems, resilience/collapse, and limits to complexity. I focus on the social, attitudinal and educational implications of these concepts, with specific interests in educational (serious) games and narratives of collapse.

I am currently the Team Lead, Teaching Development for Te Puna Ako (CeTTL).
